Fuel Feed System
Fuel Transfer System
The Brown Davis Fuel Transfer System automatically transfers fuel from the auxiliary tank to your vehicle's main fuel tank at the press of a button. An LED gauge continuously displays the auxiliary tank's fuel level, while an integrated buzzer alerts the driver when the auxiliary tank is empty, helping prevent the fuel pump from running dry and extending its service life.
The compact switch, LED gauge, and buzzer assembly is approximately the size of a 10-cent coin, allowing for a clean and convenient installation within your vehicle's dashboard. All required components and installation hardware are included.
System Operation
| Operating Condition | Description |
|---|---|
| Tank Full – Fuel Not Transferring | The LED gauge displays the auxiliary tank's fuel level while the transfer pump remains switched off. |
| Tank Full – Fuel Transferring | Press the transfer button to begin pumping fuel from the auxiliary tank to the main fuel tank. The yellow indicator light confirms the fuel pump is operating. |
| Tank Half Full – Fuel Transferring | The LED gauge shows the remaining fuel level as fuel is transferred. The transfer process can be stopped at any time using the gauge button. |
| Tank Empty – Fuel Transferring | An audible buzzer alerts the driver when the auxiliary tank is empty, indicating the fuel pump should be switched off. This protects the pump from damage caused by running dry. |

|---|---|
Drain PlugAll Brown Davis Steel Long Range Fuel Tanks include an integrated drain plug, allowing contaminated fuel to be safely drained or fuel to be collected when required. Internal BafflesBuilt-in internal baffles reduce fuel slosh and movement during driving, improving vehicle stability while increasing the tank's strength and durability. Internal Swirl PotAn integrated swirl pot keeps fuel around the pickup point, allowing you to utilise almost the entire fuel capacity—even when fuel levels are low. Best Suited For: Off-road enthusiasts, remote touring, overlanding, and demanding conditions where maximum durability is essential. |
Lightweight ConstructionBrown Davis Poly Long Range Fuel Tanks are typically 10–15 kg lighter than comparable steel tanks, making them an excellent choice when reducing vehicle weight is a priority. Building a Brown Davis Tank
Every Brown Davis Long Range Fuel Tank is engineered and manufactured to the highest standards, ensuring exceptional strength, durability, and reliability. From premium materials to rigorous pressure testing, each tank is built to perform in Australia's toughest conditions.
Laser-Cut Aluminized SteelEach steel tank begins with precision laser-cut aluminized steel, combining the strength of steel with the corrosion resistance of aluminum. This premium material delivers outstanding durability while helping to prevent rust. |
Folded Before WeldingBefore welding, each panel is precision-folded using specialised machinery. Folding reduces the amount of welding required, improves manufacturing accuracy, and creates stronger joins than welding alone. |
High-Quality WeldingExperienced fabricators weld every bracket, swirl pot, and internal baffle with precision. Purpose-built jigs ensure consistent fitment and quality across every fuel tank produced. |
Pressure TestedEvery Brown Davis fuel tank undergoes comprehensive pressure testing, including air pressure, soap solution, and submersion testing, to detect even the smallest leaks before leaving the factory. |
Why Choose Brown Davis?
- Precision laser-cut aluminized steel construction.
- Folded panels for increased structural strength.
- Professionally welded by experienced fabricators.
- Internal baffles and swirl pot for improved fuel control.
- 100% pressure tested before leaving the factory.
- Built to withstand harsh Australian off-road conditions.
